" I am very saddened to learn that Maire Hughes Miss Ireland 2012 has been stripped of her crown. She was 25 years when winning her Miss Ireland title but will be 26 when in Mongolia for Miss World 2012. The requirements of the competition require the winner to be between the ages of 17-25 years.




Galway native Maire who was crowned Miss Mayo wowed the judges on Saturday night with her grace, elegance and humility.


It is rumoured that 1st Runner-Up Rebecca Maguire is now being crowned Miss Ireland 2012. Having judged the competition on Saturday I feel that the judges should have to reselect from the remaining six girls from the Top 7.


Maire is a stunning girl who has a bright future ahead of her.
