Amy Willerton - Miss Universe Great Britain 2013



Amy Willerton was crowned today as Miss Universe Great Britain, in the national pageant held in the Birmingham Town Hall.  This Bristol born British Model is a TV Personality and Presenter.
She is 20 years old and standing 178 cm, 5'10".

                                      Biography of Miss Universe Great Britain 2013

Born in Bristol, Amy quickly became a star in her hometown. Aged 17 she was crowned Miss Bristol and brought a new leash of life to the pageant title through her charitable campaigns and successful fashion events. 



In 2011 Amy was preparing to start university in Cardiff studying Media. However, her plans changed when Katie Price’s management, Blacksheep, spotted her whilst she was performing alongside Russell Brand in his ‘Booky Wook II’ tour. Amy was encouraged to compete against tens of thousands of contestants for Katie Price’s new reality TV show ‘Signed by Katie Price’. Amy went on to win the competition and overnight was thrown into the public eye on a mass scale – appearing in TV productions such as ‘This Morning’ and ‘Daybreak’ which showcased her natural talent for live television and quick wit. 



However in a shocking twist, Amy decided to turn down the winning contract with Miss Price, as she wanted to take her career in a different direction. In an interview shortly afterwards Amy quoted ‘There was only room for one leading lady in that circus – I am not one to walk in the shadows. If I am going to make it I will be the leading lady of my own game’. 

Amy quickly bounced back by shortly upon moving to London she won the prestigious title of Miss London – in it’s most sought out year ever as the host city for the 2012 Olympics. She became a regular face in the British media consistently appearing in tabloids and featured on the covers of magazines such as; OK! And New. 
Her lifelong ambition to be a presenter became a reality when she was selected as an official presenter for the worlds fourth most watched channel – Fashion TV – viewed by 350 million households and 7 million public places globally. Her first presenting role was at the Basel World Show in Switzerland. Where Amy dove into the deep end by interviewing the CEO’s of luxury jewellery and watch powerhouses such as Hublot, Dior and De Grisogono. During the show she was approached by diamond brand, Shawish – And shortly after fronted their next worldwide campaign. 

She continues to build a modeling career in her own right by signing with International Model Management in London and working with iconic British designers such as Philip Treacy and shooting with famous photographers such as Sasha Gusov and Alan Strutt. 

In her free time, Amy enjoys skiing, surfing, spending time with her family and competing internationally in beauty pageants. She also continues to raise antibullying and female empowerment awareness and support charities such as The Variety Club, Beauty with a Purpose, and especially her disabled younger brother’s school, St.Christophers.
