Entrevista a Miss Aruba para Miss Universo 2011, Gillain Berry
BT.- How does it feel to be the ambassador of beauty in your country?
GB.- It feels wonderful; I’m up for the challenge and looking very much forward to Miss Universe 2011. I’m very happy that I was brave enough to put myself out there, to take the chance and run with it.
BT.- Now that you are Miss Aruba, don´t you feel too much pressure for being among hasn´t been there in a while?
GB.- I’m not feeling much pressure from everyone, if there is any pressure it is mostly coming from my part.
BT.- Has this always been your dream, becoming a beauty queen?
GB.- No, it’s something that after years of modeling I aspired to take part in, it’s something that happened.
BT.- Has your life changed since you became Miss Aruba?
GB.- My life has changed in the sense that most people recognize me when I go out in public and want to know more about me.
BT.- During "Miss Aruba", did people think you were going to win? What were the expectations?
GB.- One can never be too sure, I was very nervous in the opening show, but my nerves calmed down as the show progressed. When it came down to the questions, I was paying attention to each candidate’s response to each question and that’s how I weighed my changes of winning.
BT.- What do you think of "Miss Universe" being held in Brazil?
GB.- I was glad to hear that Brazil would be hosting Miss Universe 2011, Brazil is such a beautiful place with beautiful people.
BT.- What are your best attributes to win over everyone in Brazil?
GB.- That would be my determination to succeed, my perseverance, my willingness to learn and achieve all that’s necessary to better my changes in the competition.
BT.- Do you think that being beautiful can help you go far, or can you not necessarily need to be bautiful to go as far?
GB.- I believe that being beautiful helps you get in the door, but that it is one’s personality and intelligence that takes them even further in life.
BT.- What did your family think when you told them you wanted to be a beauty queen?
GB.- They where very supportive of my decision, they saw from my previous years of modeling that I do well in that area.
BT.- In your own words, who's Gillain Berry?
GB.- Gillain Berry is an intelligent, smart, beautiful and aspiring young lady. Not someone who is satisfied which average, but someone who strives for excellence.
BT.- What are you doing on September 12th in Sao Paulo?
GB.- Compete for the ultimate title of Miss Universe 2011
BT.- What do you think of the girls from Venezuela in the Miss Universe?
GB.- The girls from Venezuela are also tall and beautiful.
BT.- Do you think that the contestants from Venezuela are a big rival to win in the Miss Universe?
GB.- I don’t think any less or more of the contestants from Venezuela, we all have fair chances of winning that’s why we where chosen to represent our Country in Miss Universe 2011.
BT.- Not winning Miss Universe, what do you have in mind?
GB.- If I don’t win Miss Universe 2011 then I will be competing in Miss World 2011 and further pursue my bachelors degree in Hospitality and Tourism Management.
